I recently purchased a 1980 Kawasaki KZ1300 motorcycle, and when I checked for compression, it was pretty low. I am going to soak the cylinders with some MML and see if they loosen up at all. If a top end rebuild is necessary, there is a 1370 big bore kit available for the same price as a stock rebuild kit, only thing needed is having the cylinders bored out some. Does anybody recommend a good machine shop in Ft. Worth? Thanks for any help here.

Don't know any in Ft. Worth, but my friends and I have used Calvert's in Denton for a couple decades. Old school dudes that do good work.

I used Calvert's in Denton to rebuild my son's Miata engine. The driveshaft turns smoothly so it looks like they did a good job. I'm still a week or two away from firing up the engine. I have no frame of reference, but it took a while. 4-5 months to replace pistons, fix the block, and clean up the heads.
