I know there's alot of knowledge on this board so I'm just looking for any advice on what exactly to buy and where. I am looking to buy a 2024 Silverado 1500 LT. Chevy just announced 1.9% financing for 72 months which seems like a great deal in place of the $2500 in rebates they're offering. One rebate is labeled as bonus cash and doesn't specifically say "not available with special financing" so not sure if I may be able to still get that one with the promo financing. They also just started a $1350 discount on trucks with their "turbomax" 4-cyl, but I'm leaning towards the 5.3L V8 just for peace of mind. I live in DFW and several dealers are offering $8000 off msrp which also seems good considering where things have been the past few years. I'm planning on trading in a 2018 Chevy Equinox with roughly 110K miles on it which should get me about $8500-9000.

Haven't driven a truck in about 10 years so I'm excited about the prospect of getting another one. Just want to get the best set of mid-range options at the best price possible. Any input or direction would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would recommend the 5.3/6.2 or the 3.0 diesel. If your looking at the 2.7, I've been told your better off going GMC for the high output 2.7. Chevy did however switch the power train warranty from 5 yrs 60k to 6 yrs 100k for the 24 yr model. I purchased this at Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson and can pass you along the salesman's info. It's a 23 but I got a hell of a deal at the end of the year. This has the 5.3 and I'm loving every minute of it so far. If I had more money to spend, I would have got the LT TB with the 6.2.

Great looking truck! I love the look of the Z71 Trail Boss, but I drive a lot of highway miles for work so it's probably not the best option for my situation. Not sure who you dealt with at Reliable, but I have actually bought an SUV there for my wife from a guy named Manny. I have already reached out to him about my current needs because of the great deals they're running!

Appreciate you taking the time to reply and congrats on the great deal on an awesome truck!

Can't help much with current pricing but I drive a 22 model 1500 LT with the 2.7 turbo. I really like it so far. It was a little strange getting used to the engine sound coming from a V8 but it makes plenty of power. I really stomped on it at a stop sign for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was impressively fast. I had a conversation with my salesman back in the summer and he said GM was really struggling with 5.3 injectors. Said he was selling more 2.7 than 5.3 in 1500's. But that's just one salesman at one dealer so take it with a grain of salt.

I really wanted cooled seats but you have to jump up to the LTZ trim and at the time they were anywhere from 10-15K more depending on options which was more than I wanted to spend. The LT is a nice mid range option and I really like the design and layout of the screen in the 22 and newer models.

Lots of bad comments and reviews out there for the 5.3. It's a shame how much they've ruined what was great motor back in the early 2000s LS models.

Thank you, we are enjoying it so far. It's been a change up to drive. The wife and I have company provided vehicles so we technically didn't need a truck. But I was able to convince her that we "needed" a truck. Todd was the salesman that we worked with. He is a knowledgeable sales rep that we ended up sending family to purchase from him. If you're doing highway miles, I would look into the 3.0. Not trying to sway you away from the 2.7 as I have no first hand experience with that engine, but just from what I have read online, the high output 2.7 in the sierras would be the route of you were looking at GM trucks. Can't wait to see your Rule #1
