'13 Tundra. I've read numerous texags threads about truck tires and I think I'm down to the michelin defender ltx or the yokohama geolander ht (what we run on our diesel trucks). I'm also considering going w/ the at tires for both brands but I don't go off road. Is there any road noise w/ those AT tires?

Thank you for the help as always!

I had stock AT2's on my '19 Tundra. Great on the road, but they got a flat the last time I took them to the ranch. Switched to Cooper ATP's and I love them. No road noise (not that you can hear much over that big ass engine), did great when we had ice/snow, and they are a 10-ply, E rated tired for when I do roll around with mesquite thorns and sharp rocks. You never know.

They also just look great. I've run BFGs in the past. Same positive experience.
Nobody cares. Work Harder

I have Mich LTX AT2s on my Chevy 1500.

I was warned about some road noise, but havent noticed it at all. They ride very very smooth. I take them off-road on occasion, but nothing too rough. Mainly caliche/rock paths.

I just wish they had a more 'off-road' look.

No reason to get the ATs if you don't go off road unless its for aesthetic purposes.

Thank you for the replies. Yeah I don't ever go off road. The only thing I can think of would be for snow/sleet. I definitely like the look of the at's but also don't want to buy something that will have a lot of road noise and also might wear differently

It is hard to go wrong with the LTX's, especially if it never leaves the pavement.
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

The Michelin LTX will be quieter and smoother than the Yokos. Go with Michelin.

I second Cooper Discoverer ATP II for what you are looking for.

Wait for the LTX MS2 if you can.

LTX if you don't need all terrain

I run cooper atp on my tundras and get ~60k from them with proper rotation.

Not sure where you are looking to purchase from but you can get 4 cooper atp mounted and balanced out the door at Walmart for under $800

I vote Michelin Defender LTX. I put them on my '14 Tundra two years ago and they're outstanding.

My last two sets have been the Falken Wildpeak at3/w and now have the Cooper Discoverer ATP II. Granted two different vehicles, but the Coopers seem to ride a bit better and seem quieter to me. Both are good tires.

I must have gotten a bad set of Wildpeaks and can't recommend them anymore. I loved them until I had a tread/belt separation going down I-10. Luckily it didn't blow out. Biggest damn bubble I've seen on a tire!

I'm not a fan of Falkens at all.

What's the difference between the at2 and ms2?

Thanks!

45000 miles on my set of falkens and I'm ready to get rid of them. Got them for a good price and have been a good tire up until about 5k miles ago and they have gotten loud. They're are the atw3 and I never recall my ko2 getting this noisy.

Guy at discount the other day was trying to say they had uneven wear and getting close to needing replace. Religiously rotated these tires every 5-7k miles.

I got the defender ltx ms2 last week and like them. Very little road noise. Thanks!
