Local dealer has a pretty sweet Power Wagon that has been catching my eye. I did some research and the towing/payload capacity numbers aren't stellar. My travel trailer is ~7,000 but we put a whole bunch of crap in the bed. What say the autoboard?

Towing capacity and payload are likely negatively affected by the factory lift and offroad components.

It was designed to be a heavy duty offroader - big lift, big tires, factory locking diffs and disconnecting front sway bar, and a winch.

10,500lb towing capacity isn't small, but it isn't really designed to be a heavy tower. Ram 2500 with the same 6.4L is rated at 4,000lb payload and 17,730lb towing capacity.

My buddy has a new 2500 ram with the same drivetrain, just not a power wagon. He pulls a gooseneck with a lifted 4 door jeep wrangler and side by sides to Colorado pretty regular with no problems. Weight wise, that is nothing for that drivetrain configuration. With payload and comfort in mind, be ready for the AB to suggest a F550 at minimum.

In other news, $70k?! Mother of god!

Get the Cummins and don't look back

The towing weight is due to the softer suspension of the off-road springs. You will have no problems towing that trailer.
