Nissan, thanks to Renault, took a nosedive in quality and reliability in the 2010s but has made some changes over the last few years and are on the way back up. The current Murano model is a holdover from the general malaise of last decade, but the Rogue and Pathfinder are more recent models and much improved. The Pathfinder even dropped the CVT in favor of the 9 speed found in the Titan and Frontier. I'm no fan of CVTs, but the newest generation CVT in the Rogue is pretty decent compared the CVTs from just a few years ago.
Basically, if you're set on a Nissan, the Rogue and Pathfinder are good options, the Murano is not. That said, don't limit yourself to Nissan. The new models are a lot better, but there are options from other makes out there that are better still. As someone else mentioned, check out Mazda.
