I don't drive one, but I think they look super sharp. Basically a modern version of the infiniti FX when it came out 15 years ago.

My G70 was getting some work done recently and they gave me a new GV80 to drive for a couple of days while mine was getting repaired. Beautiful interior, is fun to drive, tons of tech, I enjoyed my time with it. Not sure how it fits in with your family's needs as far as space, but the vehicle itself was outstanding.

My dad has one, waited a long ass time to buy it too. It is really nice and has a ton of tech, I bet he doesn't use 75% of it. He had a Ford Edge previously and I think its more spacious. Some of the lux features are just so slick, like being able to park it and unpark it with the key fob.

We absolutely love ours. Tons of features that you'll be paying 10-20k more from other luxury brands to match. 5 yr bumper to bumper and 10 yr powertrain warranty is nice also. The twin turbo 3.5L V6 gives it plenty of acceleration but not the greatest mpg (averaging 18-19 range, but I don't use eco mode, or drive conservatively). What I like most about the car is the way it looks.

The dealership experience has been horrible. We tried 3 different Hyundai dealerships before finding one that is decent for service 30 miles from where I live. Cant wait until stand-alone Genesis dealerships start opening.

Something to pay attention to if you are test driving is the wheel size.

Originally, the prestige package only came with 22" wheels, while everything else came with 20". The 20" gives you a smoother ride, while the 22" look nicer.

They are now making the prestige package available in both 22" and 20" versions.

If you are thinking about the prestige package you might want to test drive in both wheel sizes to see the difference.

Thinking of going to test drive one. What's the boards thoughts on this still? Wife wants a Lexus gx550 and I wish these were cheaper, but they're as much or more, Can't win with these suv, 3rd row, v6 options in the market today.

I agree and I've always liked the FX/QX70; we had one for a bit.

Tiger was driving a GV80 several years ago when he got in that bad accident.

I drive a GX550 and my wife drives a GV80 so can definitely speak to this. The GV80 is nicer in every way than the Lexus. The interior design, material quality, and sound system are superior while the GX is full of cheaper materials. I would traditionally give Lexus the nod for reliability, but that doesn't appear to be the case with the GX at this point given the noted engine issue and recall.

I have the overtrail trim in the GX and my wife has a 3.5t advanced which was the only trim with the 3rd row for 2025 (kids only as anyone over +/- 5' tall would have headroom issues). Lexus will certainly retain value better if that is a concern, but the GV80 is a much nicer car to drive.

Very helpful and relevant feedback. Thank you for this. I'm with you on the retained value of Toyota / Lexus, but very irritated with the insane pricing - love the look of the gv80. Think we'll go test drive one. In all honesty, really think we'll probably land on a low mileage 2020-2022 gx460 and drive it till it dies.
