iseecars.com and several other sites have lists based on the combined MPGs. Presumably this is all the base version so 2WD except the Landcruiser/Grand Wagoneer

Chevy Tahoe (3.0 diesel) - 24 mpg
GMC Yukon (3.0 diesel) - 23 mpg
Chevy Suburban (3.0 diesel) - 23 mpg
GMC Yukon XL (3.0 diesel) - 23 mpg

Jeep Wagoneer (5.7 V8) - 20 mpg

Ford Expedition (3.5 L 6-cyl) - 19 mpg
Ford Expedition Max (3.5 L 6-cyl) - 19 mpg

Jeep Grand Wagoneer (3.0 L 6-cyl) - 17 mpg

Chevy Tahoe & Suburban/GMC Yukon & Yukon XL (5.3 V8) - 16/17 mpg
Chevy Tahoe & Suburban/GMC Yukon & Yukon XL (6.2 V8) - 16 mpg

Nissan Armada (5.6 L V8) - 16 mpg

Toyota Sequoia (Pre-2023 models) (5.7 L V8) - 15 mpg
Toyota Land Cruiser (5.7 L V8) - 14 mpg
Not sure if this is gatekeeping or goalpost moving but here are gas usage & total fuel cost if you drive 1,000 miles per month in the Sequoia compared to the Expy 3.5L (not sure reasonable folks would consider the Jeep SUV). Prices are from CostCo in Katy today, so I'm not including the diesel models cause CostCo doesn't sell diesel.

Sequoia: 15 mpg - 66.67 gallons @ $2.79 = $186
Expedition 3.5L: 19 mpg - 52.6 gallons $3.38 = $177.89

I know everyone's needs are different, but I'd pay $8 more per month for the bland interior & dependability of the Sequoia.

That is kind of the riff. GM and Toyota have subpar interiors. Wild to think you can't have both when spending $70k.
what is a negative of the sequoia interior?

We have leather, tv with blueray, and a sun roof. Heated front seats. What more is there to have?

Toyotas a bland generally (maybe not new Sequioa), but GM falls apart and button ink rubs off.

are you saying to put the premium in the 3.5? yeah don't need to do that.

Fair enough, I just Googled "ford expedition 3.5L recommended fuel" and it came up with 91. Not forced obviously.

Perfect example of what it costs for a Yukon to have a decent interior… $104k. Insane. Put this kind seats in a lower trim or Toyota product and I would bite.

Not looking forward to replacing the 460 gx when we have to. Almost 7 years and 100k without any problems.

I do not want any turbo chargers on a gas engine. Huge mistake from Toyota.
And don't want the AFM/DFM problems either.

Wish it was possible to order new vehicles without the crazy stuff recently added to them. I guess buying slightly used is going to be the only answer. But my wife will not like that idea.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Why would you have to replace it? I'm at 195,000 on the GX 470 and still going strong.

I think I know the answer.

* I would buy your 7 year old GX in a flash if it's not white.
Mas89
How long do you want to ignore this user?
But it is white! And as long as she's happy with it we will keep. Personally, I much prefer a larger interior suv than the 460. We had several tahoes previously with much more comfortable seats and driver/ passenger leg room and space. I feel like I'm in jail driving and riding in the 460. Especially on trips. Cabin space is much too small for me at 6-2 and the front seats are just not comfortable. I really wanted a Seqoia back when the 460 was purchased, but my wife thought it was too big and didn't like looking " over " the hood.
aggiedata

My wife is a vocal leader of a very small percentage of women that refuses to drive a white vehicle.

Therefore I can't get her another GX from TexAgs because everyone here has a white one.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I LOVE MY 2015 TOYOTA SEQUOIA.

LOVE IT. It has about 126K miles on it and will keep on trucking for a long time. We're
Planning to let the kids drive it when they are old enough. My 12 year old daughter loves it and wants it for when she is driving.

I was so excited to see the 2023 model and was SO SO SO disappointed. They ruined the 2nd and 3rd row seats to add the hybrid battery. The second row seats are fixed and do not slide back and forth. The 3rd row seats, which used to be roomy enough to be comfortable for adults, is now kid-sized.

The storage behind the 3rd row is weird now because the hybrid battery chops the floor space up.

In 2022 year models and earlier the second row seats fold sown/forward and the third row seats also fold down/forward so that you have a huge flat cargo area all the way from the tailgate to behind the driver and passenger seats. I have put so much into the back of my Sequoia - I bought a huge fire pit at Buccees and it for back there. I put TWO big, 3' tall, wheeled toolboxes back there. In 2023 the second row seats flip up. I can't even remember what the 3rd row did but the whole cargo space was disappointing. Boo! Hiss! Access to the 3rd row is now difficult.

So, I am currently looking for a used 2022 or earlier Sequoia with low miles in Blizzard Pearl with a Bedrock and Black interior. If I find a clean one I'll buy it. If not, my next vehicle will be a Ford Expedition.

For dependability you can't go wrong with a pre-2022 sequoia.

After that expedition.

Fords engine and transmission both better than gm.

I have never owned one but have friends that love the Nissan armada.

What I have been eye balling is the 3.0 diesels from GM. May wait 3 years and see the dependability before getting one.

Biggest issue on the 3.0 is finding one.

My dad had a nationwide search going for his Yukon XL duramax. Ended up finding one in Scranton, PA. Flew up there and drove it back to Dallas.

We have an Expedition and a Sequoia. Both good vehicles. The Expedition has needed more work done.

Would recommend both. I can't imagine paying $100,000 for a Jeep….

Sequoia > infinity qx80 > Nissan armada > expedition

By far the best bang for your new car buck is the Armada.

I would absolutely consider an Armada

Bumping this one. Not looking for a new vehicle, but the Nissan salesman I shopped with 5 years ago for a Pathfinder (bought a Highlander) just called fishing. Apparently Armadas aren't moving, and he can do $7500 off MSRP and 1.9% financing or something. If trade value comes in decent, I might take a look.

Tahoe = AFM/DFM, Torque Converter/Transmission worries
New Sequoia= Hybrid, nope.
Expedition = Cam Phasers, etc?

It has more HP, torque, & towing capacity with 20 ft shorter turn radius than my pickup that I'd be trading. High level boxes are checked.

Armada seems to be a "normal" old V8, which is what I'd be interested in...Other than "it's a Nissan", what's the catch? It's potentially a good "value", but is it a good 200k mile vehicle?

Armada is going to be the best value of all of these, and it's not close.

The thing that stopped us from looking at Armadas was the console between the second row seat. We needed to be able to pass through while driving so the wife axed that option. I inquired if it was removable and never got a response. Nice looking vehicle though.

We almost bought the Armada instead of the 21 Sequoia.

Loved the tech. Very comfortable. Cushy seats. Power train is solid.

Steering is TOO soft. Like steering a boat.
2nd row is too close to the front for the rear facing car seat we were using.
Getting to 3rd row with car seats wasn't practical.
3rd row is terrible for legroom.
Trunk isn't flat, angled with 3rd row down.

Looks like it can be removed, but you'd possibly need to address the exposed bracket.

Went and drove one tonight. It was OK. Didn't like it enough to make a deal. If they found another $8k on trade, maybe.
- The thing boogied. Wow.
- Steering felt OK to me, but we've had a Rogue that sat and steered similarly (I remember comparing the Rogue to the RAV4 at the time and noticing the steering) and my 05 Tahoe steering felt very much like that too, so much that a fishing buddy hated taking the truck job when launching/retrieving the boat.
- Brakes were a lot softer than I expected.
- I thought the 2nd row was actually very roomy. Took a baby in a carrier along for the ride
- 3rd row was about as expected. Bigger than my Tahoe was.
- Cargo space was very underwhelming in any configuration of 3rd row
- Only the 40 side of the 3rd row would accommodate a car seat with the rear anchor. Surprising.

I'm definitely a Sequoia homer. I have a 2015 and a 2019. Saving the 2015 for the kids to drive. I alternate between the two until then.

The 2015 has 136k miles. I bought the 2019 used with about 34k miles on it. It was practically new in appearance. I bout the 2019 after the 2023 debuted. I was planning to get a 2023 but they sucked.

Sequoia v8 is roomier in 3rd row than armada by a large margin. 2nd row console is removable in both. I pulled the console in my sequoia in like 10 mins, super easy. Sequoia 4wd setup is better than nissan if thats a factor. I'd go several yr old sequoia over new armarda in heartbeat. Both motors have great power and crap mileage.
