Doesn't look like it, which is why I feel the way I do about the situation. Give someone a chance to make it right before going after them, and giving them that chance does not mean reaching out on their private social media accounts.

Unfortunately this is what social media has enabled. The "reach" that younger generations have these days is insane and, while occasionally good, is usually used for the worse.

The thing that has me most baffled about this whole situation is the idea that someone would get so worked up over a Hyundai

The problem is that without that type of escalation the consumer has zero leverage in this scenario. While I'd like to believe that this would have been resolved with a call from the OP to Flatout, there's no way to say that it would have gotten this level of attention. Not ideal, but that's the world we live in.

I think the issue is wasting a day of their life driving to/from CS to buy a car and getting screwed. How much is your time worth ?

Replace "buy a car" in that sentence with "watch Aggie Football" and we all know the feeling

Although I don't think the OP handled this issue 100% correctly, I do understand why she is upset. That being said, she seems like an absolutely miserable person and I can't stand her use of the phrase SO, use of caps, etc. If she thinks $40k for a vehicle is OUTRAGEOUS then she has a little growing up to do and needs to be exposed to the real world a little bit,

Props to Flatout for coming in here addressing it, and doing whatever he can to make it right.

I'm an "absolutely miserable person" for being upset that this whole situation caused me to lose $300+ which equates to a month of food for me??? A situation which could have completely been avoided from the start if people had been truthful and honest?? Wow. I'm sorry, but not everyone has that type of money casually lying around.

And it's not the fact that a car could cost 40k, but that fact that we came into this dealer with a set budget, only to have the employees try to upsell us a vehicle that was $7,000+ more. I think anyone in my position would have been upset.

It'd be best for you to say that things got handled and quietly disappear. You've made your points.

Yes, I was about to address that. I received back a DM from Andrew and were working on getting compensation for the rental car fees. I really appreciate him being able to reach back out to me and make things right.

It's more about the incredible lack of maturity you've shown. You come across like an entitled know-it-all who is completely justified in your own mind but any sensible person reads your posts and sees you as, for lack of a better word, a major Karen.

The dealership (allegedly) did something they should not have. You've conducted yourself on pure emotion without the benefit of much sense or grace. Both things can be true at the same time.

If 300 is a month of food for you, a new car is probably a financial mistake.

I'm putting in pictures of the rental cars we had to pay for in this thread so that FLATOUT can see how this situation F*CKED us over. These are ONLY the rental car fees and NOT the UBER FEES WE PAID TO travel to and from the dealership from the rental car agencies.

I understand that DEALERS need to MAKE MONEY and do so by having customers come into their dealership. But, HOW is it okay to deceive people who are already in sh*tty situation (THEIR CAR WAS TOTALED A FEW WEEKS AGO FFS) into paying for a rental car so that they can come into the dealership, ONLY TO TELL THEM that the car they wanted was sold???? They completely F*CKED us over.

You just sent me a super nice sweet DM on Instagram privately and you come come back on here cursing about this and that.

This is today's society, I don't play with this passive aggressive bull***** I'm the one guy that can help you, I suggest you post with some class or not at all if you want my help.

You want to bully online that's fine buts it's going to get you further away from the resolution you want which I am actively trying to assist with.

At the end of the day you and I are on the same team. We're both Aggies, you want to buy a car and I want to sell you one even at a loss to fix this but one thing I won't do is help anyone that's going to continue to hide behind a keyboard and talk *****

I gave your boyfriend my email and called him from my personal cell just after going through customs on the last day of my vacation so that he could send the invoices to my email for reimbursement and then you post them on Texags for more attention.

Post one more attack and you'll get nothing from me.

Posting this for clarity to make sure we're on the same page. I'm trying to help you.

This is absolutely incredible to me

Ms excuse me for not having $300 "laying around."

Most everyone here remembers when $300 was a huge amount of money for us to lose. And when that was the case we were spending $5,000-$10,000 on cars. Or $1,000. Not $30,000. That is beyond absurd

Wait…WHAT?

You want the op to come back and post about how thankful the op is for the dealership having to push something to a GM Two days later to fix a situation that should have never happen? Lol.

Im thinking in terms of if this was my daughter and the dealership should be thanking her for not having her dad come down there and unload a size 13 steel toe into two of those **** boxes sitting on the showroom floor. I'll give her 300 bucks from my wallet and consider it a fun tax.

I mean this isn't a one off deal. This seems to be somewhat of a trend. Someone visits a keating dealer and issues arise so they post here. Posters get up in arms about never using keating. Problem is eventually resolved and everyone is happy, sings kumbaya, good on you for acknowledging, fixing, and hopefully resolving the issues going forward. Wait a couple months, rinse and repeat.

Edit: I dislike the OPs handling of it as much as everyone else. But doesn't mean there can't be two parties at fault.
