You guys that change your own, how do you dispose of the old? Pretty sure all shops charge a disposal fee.

Been dumping mine in Advance Auto parts container for free for years. As recently as 4 months ago.

I pour it back in empty plastic gallon oil jugs once it's cooled. I use it to start my fires for my burn/brush piles at the ranch.

Goes into my oil change reservoir. New oil comes out of the 1 gallon jugs into the truck. Old oil goes into the 1 gallon jugs. Take them to wal mart when it's time for new oil. No charge.

I put the old oil back into empty 5qt containers and then dump it at NAPA in their collection tank in the back of the store

I pour it over my burn pile (and I have a massive amount this year) to get the fire started. safer than gasoline and definitely cheaper than diesel.

Nothing pleasures me more than seeing black smoke spew and putting additional CO2 into the air to warm the earth a bit more. Just to piss off the left.

I don't do this often but when I do, it makes me happy.

Christian Brothers does full synthetic oil and filter change for $39.99 + a hard sell on an additional 3 grand worth of repairs you didn't know you needed.

Put it back in the jug's and keep it stockpiled. Mix the used oil with diesel 50/50 or so, and then stain my fence and trailer floors with it every year.

Wooden trailer floors? Does this make the wood last longer? Less susceptible to rot?

Good,

I don't mind being hated by liberals. I welcome it.

It does. It makes it an oil based stain, that penetrates the wood. Keeps it from soaking in water. It is no more harmful than staining a deck or fence to the environment. In fact, because you are recycling the used oil it's less harmful than buying stain from the store. Plan on using it on my deck and shed ramp this year as well.

I bought a ton of the rotella gas truck for closer to 10 a jug, thanks to 1ags tip.

Dang. They've discontinued this product, wish I had stocked up at that price.

That's why the price was so cheap. Advance Auto was blowing it out a few years ago. I actually think at the end of the sale, gallon jugs were going for $5. I wiped out my local store's 5w20, 5w30, and 5w40.

So I will check my old receipts but I think I paid around $24.97 per 5qt jug at Wally World about a year ago. Either way I'll start bulking up on deals.

Yup. I bought around 80 jugs of it at the time.

Mobil Synthetic (not mobil1) which used to be Mobil Super Synthetic, which is around 20 bucks/5qt jug on Amazon. It is supposed to compete with Magnatec and Pennzoil platinum and other mid grade synthetic. Seems to be a very good motor oil.

If there's no other deals after this, I'm going to use Costco synthetic.

Despite all the extended intervals, I will keep my intervals at 5000 on most my dailys and Ecoboosts and annual changes on my garage queens.
