Drive around on a super hot summer day until he can't stand the heat anymore. When he comes out to cool off in the breeze, make a hard right or left and leave him in traffic; just don't forget Rule 1, ala MrsCP90.

While I recommended the coolant, there is something to be said about fire.
My mom grew up in a very poor home. One outfit to her name type of childhood. Anyway, every night she could hear rats and mice running in the attic from end to end of the house she lived in. One night, my grandfather went in the attic, caught a mouse with a fork, and then set the mouse on fire. He let it burn and squeal until it died on it's own. They never had a mouse problem after that.
So…if you're worried about another mouse showing up, maybe the fire method will be more defective long-term.
