Testing if anyone has any advice. We bought my son's 2014 F150 in December. It was registered then. We put the title in our name. We get his inspection last week (which passed) and go to Kroger to get his new tags and we were told they can't give us the new tags because of the "TCEQ Non-Compliant" piece on the Registration Renewal Notice.

Anyone else ever come across this? I'm in Fort Bend and would rather not have to go to the DMV. The inspection passed which in effect means everything is compliant.

Also, there is no recall on this vehicle. Thanks in advance.

Fort Bend is an emissions county. I'm assuming wherever it was last registered and inspected is not.

Did you get the inspection in a different county? Like maybe Wharton? Or someplace west?

Lived in an emissions county for over 5 years but I work and do most of my driving in non-emissions testing counties. Always had my renewals done across the street from my work, but they don't test for emissions. Got flagged for it for the first time this year. Called in to Texas DPS and they are really cracking down on this. If your car is registered in an emissions testing county, you have to have an emissions test to register.

Ok. Thanks. I'm assuming the country where it was previously registered was not hence the flag this year to have it done. I just hope this isn't an annual issue. I called the DMV and they said to bring the inspection (showing everything as "passed") and they will provide the sticker.

It doesn't matter, they do it based on the registration address, not where the inspection is being done.
