This is a dummy obd port.

Remove it. And trace back.

Ah okay… The dummy port goes to the first tracker (previous photo on last page that has the foam around it). I thought I'd have to undo each wire from the tracker and re-wire into the port, but now I realize the "foam photo" is likely the backside of the real port and I just need to un plug it from the tracker.

Just removed this LoJack device from my Wrangler. Was wired directly to fuse box.

I'm new to this thread. Where would this be in a 2015 and 2019 Toyota Sequoia? Under the driver's side dash? I got under there and didn't see anything suspicious. No zip ties. But there's a lot of stuff under there and the dash is kind of in the way.

The OBD port is white and there's nothing plugged into it.

I checked my vehicle history on the Jeep app and it showed lojack installation.

Are these still a thing? I have looked pretty hard on my '23 F150 and can't find the dang thing, if it's there.

Maybe? My 23 f150 had an ikon technologies tracker(similar product) on the obd port. I knew it was installed because dealer tried to charge for it, I told them no and pulled it off in5 seconds when I got home.

Another "Did I do it right?". 2024 Rav4. If nothing else we are adding to the library of what should come out.

See this link for a picture of what came out of the car and then the 2nd/3rd picture is what I left in the car in the OBD2 slot.

99% sure I did it right but don't want to roll up to get a diagnostic one day and they ask me where the rest of my OBD port is...

From Don Mcgill Toyota(They would not sell it without it or help me remove it after the sale). Sloppily reinstalled the trim I might add as one of the screws didn't seat and was just hanging there. Brand of the tracker is Guidepoint.

New to me '21 F150. I thought the port looked a little off here but everything behind it looks stock to me. A little help 1ags?

That's the oem port. You're good. They stopped the gateway in 2021 and it's just a normal plug.

Wanted to update this thread. According to the local dealer, they have a new version of Apex coming out. It will now be hardwired into the car. My truck was recently stolen, and had this product installed in it. I will give an update and let everyone know if they cover what they claim to.

I have a CEL on my Jeep GC 4xe and found this guy hanging around under the dash when I went to look at pulling the code. The biggest PITA is as reseating the factory port.

Thx for sharing. My dad bought a slightly used truck from them in the last year or so. He said he didn't finance with them but sounds like that may not matter as they will try and sell it as a LoJack type system. Does it show up in young bill of sale?

Anyone here ever dealt with the data from these things? Is any of it stored locally on the device or is it all "in the cloud"? If in the cloud, who has that data?

I'm new to this thread. My wife has a company car and her company is about to start buying the data. Can't go more than 9 over the speed limit for more than 29 seconds and it also measures sudden braking where we will get dinged for some amount of this too.

The OP mentioned 'telematics' and my wife thought this was the monitoring company, but it sounds like that is a generic term for a type of monitoring device and not a company name.

Anyway, I can't take the device out because I'd expect trouble from her company if we did that, but I'd love to learn a way to temporarily block it somehow, like when we take the car on a road trip for example.

I guarantee there's a "disabling or tampering with our device is cause for immediate termination" policy. The Ag companies that have used these have had that policy.

My wife's company did this but you could "earn" disabling it after 6 months or a year if you were dinged < xx number of times.

You're probably right, and for that matter it probably doesn't need to be written down anywhere, at least in any employment at will state.

Was just at Mac Haik Ford in Houston. They flat out have the LowJack on there as a $700 upcharge, already in stalled.
