May have some run if they infill the bed and make it a full size SUV.
And upsize their wheels.
And lose the ground clearance

This is the Aliens transport, no?

Yes - straight from Aliens. The anti modern truck design could evolve into something cool. The ideal minivan replacement vehicle really.

How many do they have out of their entire network, and how well are they placed in places where people will want a truck for truck things?

The Tesla starts out with 16" of ground clearance...

...of course somebody will want to find a way to try for more.

Hopefully they've ironed out the kinks in the transaxle. You couldn't run over more than a few xenomorphs without blowing the transaxle and just grinding metal.

This is really starting to grow on me. The looks are unconventional for sure, but very futuristic looking and I think they'll become more acceptable over time. The physical size of it might be a problem though, because it appears to be huge.

I do like the idea of being able to have a fast truck without worrying about durability. If all I can get in a pickup is a ticking time bomb torque converter automatic, I might as well have a gearless electric that I can rip on anytime I want.

For sports cars, I'll stick with an ICE engine and manual transmissions, because of fun. I don't care if the electric is faster, it's not going to be as much fun as a 500+ hp stick shift car.

I just really get the feeling you've never had a TC with a high STR ratio

It's hideous from this angle... and it looks like a tire might be mounted backwards.
