That's good to hear. A while back I was thinking about getting my wife a hybrid QX60 but a friend with a Volt and lots of EV knowledge said that Nissan hybrids didn't do well (battery capacity) in hot climates.

Does it actually make that noise, and if so why? Tesla's are pretty much silent. Is that something Ford did on purpose?

I think I'd want to be able to hear some electric motor whine as long as I can turn it on and off if it's more than barely audible.

Some of the articles say there is a LRAD 100X speaker behind the diffuser that makes the noise. For some reason they went with a whine that sounds like straight cut gears in a race car. Could also be the front and rear differentials whining.

Yeah, that's high speed gear mesh noise. Not electric motor noise. Thats fake.


And it's stupid. Might as well make it elephant mating calls, or just one long, perpetual fart noise.

Prototype insinuates that this might be a test-mule or a pre-production version using some of the technology of the actual car. This is none of that. Hell, this thing has 7 motors in it.
