Idk, that's where I get hung up. Leaning towards either a Golf alltrack or a late-model XC70, only one of those can be had with a manual! I hate lifted wagons though so I'd probably lower them

Our V70 beater just lost the whole guage cluster. The CEM has been flaky since we got it, but my daughter told me last night the speedo and other guages are dead. No lights, no nothing.



I'm keeping my eye open for a decently cared for XC70 for her. She loves her V70. but we always knew it was a temporary beater. I got it for free, but without keys. The guy that owned it didn't want to pay 400 bucks to get keys made so he gave it to me.

I'll gladly take a V70 beater off your hands. I think Xemodex rebuilds em

Yeah that's probably the easiest thing to do. It's not something I can pair to the car with my hacked version of VIDA. It would have to go to a dealership to have a new/used one paired, or get xemodex to rebuild it.

This car was stolen about a year ago. It was my daughter's boyfriend's car. He left the keys in it like an idiot and somebody took it, tossed it for valuables, then left it in some apartment complex. He only had the one key and fob.

Long story short, they broke up and I still had the car stored at place I rent to store a trailer. I called him to see what he was going to do about it and he gave it to me. SO I had a key (no FOB) made through a dealership. Cost about 400 bucks all in. The only reason I took the gamble was because I knew the car, I helped him do the timing belt and some other maintenance.

The car is not a manual. It is a 2.4 NA, FWD only. It is as base model as it gets. I put in a decent stereo and have just basically made it reliable.

It got hit hard by the hail. It is now covered in dents and the rear glass was shattered. Got a new glass put in, and now the dash goes out. lulz. #VolvoLyfe

Over 3 years since I started this thread and hit 180k miles last week. All is quiet after the clutch/transfer case fiasco. Will need new tires by the end of the year and have a minor coolant leak at my thermostat.

Someone V8-swapping an S60R (sedan-twin to the wagon). Has been done before but only with an automatic, he's maintaining the manual transmission. The V8 is out of an XC90.

I really want to put a V8 in an AWD V70. I'd probably leave the automatic though. I know it's been done in Sweden in an XC70, but I'd like a V8 road rocket!

Rounded/curved front of the hood also means not a Volvo. Add the hood length and it is likely a late '80s or early '90s BMW wagon. Raised center area on hood not pronounce enough for Mercedes.

EDIT- 4 lugs makes it a Toyota Corona wagon circa 1980

Huh. Thats a neat wagon I did not know about. Rear wheel drive and everything. I was driving an 81 Datsun B210 Wagon around '88-'89. That's all I knew about import cars at the time, having been a "'Murican V8 or Nuthin" kind of guy.

That Datsun opened my eyes to the wonderful world of light weight and low power. It's so much fun to hoon a car like that at 110% all the time in public. Do that with a 390 Galaxie and you are going to jail..... Or the ditch. Whichever is closer.

I saw the same thing last week. Waiting to turn left at a stop sign, guy approaching from left slowing down in the right turn only lane with blinker on, but at the last second I guess realizes that's not his turn and pops back out to go straight.
