How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm planning on selling a truck in the next month or so and looking for some guidance.
1) Is there a blank receipt form I can find online and fill out for myself and the buyer, or do I need to write up my own receipt?
2) my biggest fear is getting a check from the buyer and the check bounces/is fraudulent, etc. so how can I confirm the buyer has the appropriate funds?
3) any other things I need to consider?
*will be selling in Texas if that changes anything. Thanks!

I wouldn't let them take the vehicle until the check clears. I would be happy to take a cashiers check at the bank though.

You can write up a bill of sale yourself and it's easy to find an example online.

Also, good luck with the sale!

  • Sign title
  • Cash only
  • Sign Form 130-U
  • Submit VTR-346
  • Keep your plates

No real need for Bill of Sales nowadays. The 130-U and VTR-346 work together to basically do the same thing.

As mentioned, definitely keep your plates if you live anywhere near toll road. I got burned on that not long ago.

We need a sticky for this.
