likely the biggest thing it'll cost is performance. On and off road. Be very certain of your goals and expectations before lifting. Could very well be counterproductive

I have upgraded brakes from the 16+ 200s(also all 2nd gen tundras). It's a small upgrade but good peace of mind.

Other than that a WD hitch and good trailer brake controller and it's not that bad. heading down was no big deal.

With the elevation it's SLOW going up some of those grades. Like 30mph. Not far outside Durango I threw a CEL for EVAP issues. These are known to boil gas at elevation.

I run a bluetooth ODB link scan tool so I can monitor transmission temps through my screen when towing. Came in very handy to clear the code and keep going

Anyone in need of a replacement cup holder assembly for a 100 series? Had a 2006 LC that I sold sometime ago, and this was left over in the garage- brand new, never been used. $150 seems fair as they go for ~$180.

Silverton to Ouray today

This trip was kind of slapped together last minute. My Conqueror was in the shop so we're borrowing this from my FIL. These RV parks aren't really our jam but it's been ok. I'm afraid my wife might get addicted to the extra space, and AC

I think I'm gonna try to run Ophir tomorrow but that'll probably be the only trail we get to.

I cannot imagine pulling a trailer from Silverton to Ouray- be careful. Returning to Silverton on that road would be worse due to the drop-off on the west side of the road.

I've been on the LC list at the local dealer there for several months. They have a white 1958 LC coming that I put a refundable deposit on last week. With all the recent Toyota problems, I'm considering waiting a couple years to see how things go- I have several weeks to think about it I suppose.

I upgraded from a 4runner to the new LC this weekend and I'm still struck by how much better it looks in person than in photographs. The dimensions somehow look different/better in person. Same with the new GX, much better in person.

I'm passively looking for some FJ40 hood side skirts. They're for a rockcrawler, so they don't have to be perfect great. Hood has already been taco'd twice and rolled on, so anything that can be tapped into place would work. So just about any shape and any color.

FYI if you have an LX570 with the 3rd row removed, the leftover connectors can be used for aux power. GX460s have similar capability but the connectors are different part numbers

Mud helped me find the part number and I was able to source a raw connector and some pins. I rigged this one up to an XT60 connector to power my Eco flow Glacier fridge.

The circuit itself is on a 30amp fuse, always on. In reality Mud thinks it will provide a max of around 15 amps. My glacier has car battery protection so after the car was off for about a minute, charging ceased and didn't start again until I started the car.

There's one on each side and they're on separate fuses, so they should both be able to supply about 100 watts simultaneously. My plan is to power my eco flow with one, and keep my bluetti power station charged with the other.

There are lots of ways to skin this though. You could rig up your own charging station in an ammo can provided you rigged up your own low voltage cutoff, which is easy to find on Amazon.

Ha yeah it was.

We had intended from the beginning to just go up to the Imogene creek falls and turn around. Wheeling wasn't the focus of this trip and we had other stuff planned for the day. It had been a while since I scouted out Imogene and my memory was hazy. I thought it was a much quicker and easier route to the falls. So at the point y'all caught us it was taking a little longer than expected and I was considering turning back. Saw y'alls group down the mountain and decided to just wait until you came through since I was already parked to the side. Then Mrs. 03 basically told me to quit being a b**** and just go. So we did.

I talked to a guy in the back of y'alls line for quite a while. White 80 series from Kansas. He was very interested in my 570 and helped us pick some lines. Once we got to the creek falls we nearly just followed y'all all the way to Telluride but decided that plus the drive back to Ouray would add too much time.

Ended up being a really worthwhile trip because the kids spent a ton of time in the creek and had a blast.

Unfortunately while we were up there I slipped on a rock and hurt my wrist pretty bad. Still considering getting it x-rayed. My wife had to drive us back down to Ouray.

Twenty years ago I had a fall, caught myself with my hand, and thought I sprained my wrist. Kept doing the activity I was doing at the time, and although the wrist hurt it wasn't that bad. Didn't really swell much, if at all. A couple days later it still felt a bit off and painful and the physical therapist I was dating at the time suggested I get it looked at because if you break a specific bone in the wrist it can not heal, the bone die, and she told me "you may have to get your wrist fused" (not sure if that is accurate, but got me to the orthopedist). Sure enough, broke the scaphoid bone and needed a screw put in. If I hadn't gotten advice I may have just wondered for a month why it wasn't healing, it just wasn't that painful and I could still move the wrist.

The previous owner of my 98 added a bunch of cool stuff. One of those things is a AGM battery under the hood and the wiring is a cluster. I want to finally build my drawer system, but in doing so, I am going to need to also trouble shoot his wiring bull****, because I know he added power to the back and I would love to use that on my new fridge.

One wire goes forward between the seats, it goes to the fuse box, then another goes towards rear passenger corner. There is a wire light connector up there for rear facing flood lights that could strobe as zombie lights. I think he had a remote that could trigger them but I don't think I have that remote anymore.

Maybe that's the receiver for the remote? He said he used to use that remote from his RTT to trigger the lights off he heard coons or something.

So no idea. I fully expect to rewire a lot.

Definitely looks like an SPST relay to me. Would definitely hang on to that could come in handy later.

Wire that relay to any ignition only wire and you can use it to trigger a circuit to only work when the car is on.

Curious how many wires were running to his lights back there. I'm wondering if the lights got constant power and then he was using that relay to trigger the strobe mode. If he tied that relay to the right circuit in the fuse box he could potentially trigger the strobes with the key fob.

Yeah, part number says relay.

I know that zombie light deal worked when the LC was off. So did the light bar. Neither seem to have power right now.



Do you know if there is any problem with me taking out the rear seat connections? The seats are up in my garage apartment and I removed the seat belts.
