Sad news. One of my favorite posters.

Damn. This might sound strange but I'll definitely answer "Here" for him at Muster next year. First time I'll have ever answered the roll call for a guy I didn't know but had much respect for. He was a great poster.

Ironically, I did think about him 2 days ago when I saw somebody driving a red RHD Honda NSX in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Wow. Gone way too soon, unreal.

Wow. I always enjoyed giving him a hard time but he was never afraid to have his own opinions and stick to them. A great poster and someone who's advice I always trusted, be it automotive related or something over on the Nerdery. This news really saddens me. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

I was about to say that. Holy **** though, why'd it happen? I thought he was class of '80.

He was genuinely a great guy. When I was looking into buying an NSX 4 years ago he offered to let me drive his around a bit to see if it was what I was expecting, but I was never able to take him up on that because of the move to the east coast. It came as a complete surprise to me at least, since I'm just some random person on Texags.

I posted on nerdery already but I don't think it was enough. I don't post much but I have always enjoyed reading his post. This morning at work I was reading the JDC chatter and was very sorry about his passing. As I roamed around the other boards I like to read and saw that Spice had passed I was at a loss. An Ag I've never met yet had some internet chatter with was suddenly gone. From the past five years of enjoying his input I've always thought that when I moved home to Texas I was going to pick his brain to help me set up my perfect home theatre and now that chance was taken in a fleeting moment. Spice, we're all going to miss your additions to this little slice of the internet. I bet you were a great husband, father and son. If I was home in Texas I'd gladly head over to pay my respects to a person that added so much to our little world. Come Muster in 2016 I'll say 'Here' for you wherever I may be...

Very shocked to read this, what sad news. I hope his wife and kids are doing as well as they can - it will be very tough for them, especially his wife. Keeping them in my thoughts.

I gave him a hard time about his Ridgeline but I liked that he loved it. That felt like a bond because I've loved cars others wouldn't and defended their virtues. He really liked his vehicles.

Like everyone else, shocked to read as I recalled him being a younger man. T&P for the Hoffmann family.

Dang. I liked his style of posting here, championing the Ridgeline and other practical/boring cars.

Wow this is crazy. I always think of spice when i see ridgelines or NSX.

Very sorry to hear this. He always seemed like a nice, respectful guy even when we did not see eye-to-eye.

When I think of him I think of his love of the NSX, his unatural love of the Honda El Camino, and his hatred of all things chrome.
