Wouldn't a TBI 350 + 700R4 be $0 for you, since you took that out of RaceTruck (TM)? Or did you sell those already?
And yeah, not just SBC bellhousing bolt pattern vs. GM Metric on the 2.2/2.5/2.8, but the early 700R4s (and whatever 3-speed auto they used then) were pretty weak. Besides, an S-10 beater needs to be a 5-speed anyway. :p
Really regret selling it now, some may recall a thread I started where I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.
A 5 speed would be awesome but that means more work and it's something I'd want to get done quickly. It should go smoother since I just have more general automotive knowledge after the first swap haha
quote:You are correct but the v8/4.3 700r4 and 2.8 700r4 aren't the same, not interchangeable.
Yeah, I knew it wouldn't built up to a V8. That was my next question. I didn't realize they had two versions (I'm not an expert, believe me). Nevermind
Pulled a vacuum on the A/C and now waiting to see if it holds after replacing a few fittings and Schrader valve. Hoping like hell it holds because it has been hot on the ride home!
Got a few tint quotes so far, one from Fabien but it'd be a bit harder for me to go with him due to distance. Waiting to get a call back from the guy who did RACETRUCK.
I had an external visor on my 49 Chevy truck - about had to get out and stand by the truck to see a light. That's what those traffic light viewing prisms from the 50s were all about!
I'd paint it white with 2" red rocker panel stripes with about a 3/4" blue stripe above and below the red. Get some chrome 15's and paint a Texas flag on the roof.
I'm doing static, 3" in front and 3-4.5" in the rear.
I'll keep the 14's for now but when it needs new tires I'll get 15x6 wrapped in 215/65 tars and rear gets 15x8 wrapped with 235/60 tars with v6 and when it has a 350 I'll slap on the 275/60s I have in my garage
