Personally I don't think the Oddys look that terrible. With two kids under two and taking frequent road trips, I've been seriously considering one. Fwiw I'm a practical person in general (no Fanny pack though).

but the enjoyment of driving an SUV outweighs practical benefits of a minivan,
unless you go off-roading, how is there any extra enjoyment driving an SUV? I get the appeal of the way it looks, sitting high (at least compared to a car), but what else is there?

You get to look down your nose at people who wear fanny packs and live in shotgun houses, whatever the heck that means.

As far as the cargo, I have 20" of length on your minivan.

And 40" of that is hood. Carry a lot of cargo under your hood, do you?

If you have the legroom you say you have, I should have 20" more space behind my 3rd row than you do.

Combined legroom, all three rows:

Suburban 115.7"
Oddy: 124.2"

Can't find an online measurement of the distance between the back seat and the back door. Can anyone measure it in a Suburban?

Glad you are enjoying it. I find it darn funny myself.

So the Suburban does win (by 20%) the space behind the third seat battle.

Which means the Tahoe loses by a bunch.

Cargo area behind the third seat

Suburban: 45.8
Oddy: 38.4
Tahoe: 16.9

Can't fine any online measurements for how deep that space behind the third seat is, but we can guess. Take the total cargo area, divide it by the shoulder room and the headroom, and you get a decent approximation.

Suburban:

45.8 cu. ft = 79,142 cu. in. /38.1 headroom/64.7 shoulder room = 32.11 inches

Oddy:

38,4 cu. ft. = 66,355 cu. in. /38.0 headroom/60.9 shoulder room = 28.67 inches.

Congratulations! Your 20" longer Suburban has 8.5" less leg room and 3.4" more cargo room behind the rear seat for a net loss of 5.1 inches!

I could care less what other people drive, and I do appreciate people that can look at it practically. Don't come at me with this ego business unless you live in a shotgun house and wear a fannie pack (no offense). Especially don't try to convince me that you actually that you think your minivan is better looking and more desirable than your average SUV. Look at Drey above, he doesn't like a minivan but he thinks the practical benefits outweigh the box of ugly.

When I think about driving enjoyment I have thoughts of Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos and Suburbans in my head!

You are calling me out for ego being tied to what I drive, I admit that I prefer one over the other. Since you are Mr. Practical I assume you live in a shotgun house and wear a fanny pack. If not, I think your ego is tied to everything but your minivan.
