A co-worker is selling one of these, I think he's looking for $18,900, has around 40K miles.

He's smoking crack if he thinks he'll get that much for it.

He stated that is his "asking price", he and his brother run a used car lot on the side so he's used to asking high and selling almost as high.

just for my own curiosity, what should something like that go for?

I paid $26k for a 2005 fully loaded convertible with 65k miles.

I think the 1996 c4 is not only the most beautiful Vette ever made, it is the most beautiful car ever designed and built. It has the best of both coupe and convertible features. It is the way I would have designed it. All the lines on the car including the saw blade wheels are perfect. I have an arctic white coupe with sport red leather seats and interior. It is in almost mint condition with very low miles and I love it. I have spent many enjoyable moments just staring at the lines and appreciating the car from the standpoint of design. Their is not a more beautiful car before or since!

As someone said earlier, just not as pleasing to the eye as aC3, C5, etc imo. Wife has an 82 collector edition and its a beautiful car. Rides like a dump truck, but its sure pretty.

Clean Designer's post is in the running for "most obvious fanboy" with BurnetAggie and his Ford truck love fests.

Personal preference obviously.

C1>C6>C5=C7>C2>C3>C4. C7 has potential to pass the C6, Its still growing on me and the interiors are pretty sweet.

I own a C5Z06 FWIW, just couldn't afford the C1 or C6Z06. I am perfectly happy with the C5Z06.

You know...I like the Vette....but I'd have to get rid of my Europa and pick up a big gold chain to hang on my neck and exposed hairy chest!

No really, I do like the C4 ZR1 it has some Lotus heritage, right? The engine, the shocks made of unobtanium...not to mention the priceless front wind shield.

Huh? Outside of C1s, they were true sports cars. The C3 went on for too long, but it was a pretty radical design, at least as seen by the buying American public. The Lincoln Mark VII was a "pretty car with a big engine."
