It's funny that this came up on here. My brother-in-law actually owns the business that sells these boats. A few weeks ago, my parents were down in Florida visiting them for a wedding and the DPS guys were there. So the DPS felt a lot better when they realized the Florida guy they were buying from has Texas ties.

I've been out on some of these before, and needless to say, they are ridiculously fast. And these are the "lower class" boats he sells. I forget what the turning radius is they were talking about, but these will only make that turn at about 60 mph. The "big boat" will do it around 80 mph.

And regarding the comments about spending gov't money, that's not really accurate. All the money used to purchase these boats comes from seized drug funds. So there may be some money involved in operating them, but the $650K pricetag you see listed (which is pretty accurate) isn't tax payer money.

FYI...my brother-in-law told me they will have this bad boy on display at the Houston Boat Show if anyone wants to go see it.
