Providence is a Christian, Classical, Collaborative-model school that combines the best elements of Christian classical schooling with homeschooling. Students in prek4-4th grade attend school with professional teachers on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and complete work assigned by the professional teacher at home with a parent co-teacher on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. In 5th-12th grade we add a third day of professional instruction on Fridays.
The website explains it better. provprep.org
Really intrigued by the website. We both work, but wife does WFH. How do families accommodate this without a stay at home parent?
depending on age, tutoring at the school on M&W.
we have a friend who taught very little and did tutoring until they were in about 5th or 6th grade when the kids are younger, it definitely takes more co-teaching from the parent, but the load on lower elementary students is fairly low.
as they get to about 4th-5th grade, the need to be involved as far as the complexity of work increases, but they also should have a bit more of understanding of learning from home.
our kids started in 6th and 4th. the oldest was almost entirely independent and really just comes to us for technical things by 7th grade. he's a rising senior now. my youngest is a freshman and likes to do school with my wife, but that's just a personal thing, but he could do almost all of it on his own.
so to answer the question, YMMV. i know two working parents that make it work. i know stay at home moms/dads that still lean on tutoring.
