It is a nice, growing Campus....but not real exclusive. Basically anyone can get in, which tells me that profs will have to teach down to the talent. Not nearly as demanding or respected as TAMU College Station.

A bunch of expansion planned - nice new facilites.

What could be done to change its image...is it a juco feel or just an average school, nothing special feel?

What is the best thing about it?

Thanks for the help too!

If you have a child interested in A&M College Station, the best way to get in if not immediately accepted is to go to A&M Galveston, get your freshman year out of the way (30 hours) and you can transfer into a major at A&M College Station as long as you are in good standing.

TAMUCC still has a semi-commuter school feel to it, kind of like UTSA.

Its growing rapidly and the enrollment will be capped w/in the next few years if they cant find room to expand (which they're working on now).

New buildings are going up and they have apartments on campus, no dorms, which seems to be the trend now a days.

They are trying to get an Engineering school approved and expand on their Marine Science school, too.

It's not a very selective school, right now, but they have a lot of good administrators there and it's only improving.

It doesn't have the "real college experience" feel to it yet, and I dont know if it ever will, but it's growing for sure.

No no, all of my kids are past the freshman stage...the two daughters have graduated and son is a jr in CS.

Is TAMUCC the old Del Mar College?

No. TAMUCC is the old CCSU. DMC is still DMC.
