We are doing much better now. Not fully back, that will take some more time (read years). Biggest problem for visitors right now is lodging and eating out. Cannot tell you exactly how many of the motel/hotels are back in service, but certainly not the full compliment before the storm. Also, eating out is limited unless you go for the tourist trap stuff like Boiling Pot. Have one good Mexican food place, Los Camoles and that is about it. There is a new place that will open soon, 2 to 4 months, The Italian Cowboy, but other than fast food that is about it. Downtown area is sketchy. Beach is GREAT the effort there is amazing. If ya fish, our only problem now is
WIND, WIND, WIND. Did I mention it is very windy, sucks for fly fishing or really almost any kind as we have Small Craft warnings almost continuously.
Was in Port A yesterday and they are really making progress. Destruction is, of course, still present and not all businesses are open.
Am an Old Ag so cannot advise on Honky Tonks or beer joints, need younger input on those.
