All of the restaurant talk aboug Galv got me wondering. I haven't found any good chinese food since I've been here. What recommendations do you have... and don't say China Island.

Pho 20 is good. I know it's Vietnamese, but they have Chinese food too.

There is a relatively new place on 44th & Broadway called China Sea. Used to be a greasy burger joint. You will most likely want to pick up and eat at home, but the food ain't so bad. However, I usually stick with vietnamese food (Pho 20 & Pho 18 on Holiday Dr) or the buddha.

No where right now Moved up here in June and am still looking for a job. My wife and I used to live in Friendswood when I was still in school and I was planning on working in Galveston after graduation.

Just so you know... I had a pretty bad experience working at Hotel Crescent Court. I worked there six weeks and found another job. Stay away from there.

You also might consider going by AI Dallas and talking to Chef Matson. He's the head of the Culinary department, and he used to head up the AI Houston culinary department. They might be able to point you towards a job, if you're having trouble finding something.

Happy Buddha isn't bad... taste a little different after the storm though.

Brick Top-

Thanks for the heads up on the Cresent Hotel. Also for the tip on contacting the department head, I hadn't thought of that. Appreciate the help.
