I love living here but there are downsides and one of them is having to acknowledge having one of the dumbest, most corrupt congressmen in DC and the fact that he has won easily in every election since 1982.
His latest: he is going to deprive Ingleside's base redevelopment program three mil in federal money because the group over there wants CC's county judge, a republican, to sit on their board.
They are political rivals and so he is going to see they don't get the dough. The Navy is shutting down a big base over there that was the center for Mine Warfare and part of the property is some land on the water and near the ship channel and Ingleside gets to develop it.
His explanation? There is not enough hispanic representation on the board and little representation from small communities like Robstown (his hometown and political base).
So if Neal was hispanic and from Robstown he would be ok? Right?
You have to be from around here to understand how comical it is that anybody would want some Robstown pol sitting in on anything, except maybe a rehab group at the state pen.
This guy is beyond belief and his retarded kid is in the state legislature and got designated "furniture" by the latest Texas Monthly.
