Does anyone have a suggestion for a good seafood place in Port A? I would like something on or close to the water, and a place where I can take my two children (4 1/2 and 2).

It seems that every place on google search has bad reviews.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've eaten at both Pelican's Landing and Trout Street and enjoyed both.

If you are willing to drive down the island, Doc's (under the JFK causeway, the old Frenchy's) is my current favorite restaurant.

My family enjoys Fins (right by the public boat ramps). Especially if we have some fresh trout for them to cook.

I will second Fins. My kids love it. (8 & 12)

I have eaten at Virginia's, Pelican's Landing, and today for the first time at the Beach/Station St. Grill.

The last wins hands down. It is small, but the food is excellent, and service is personal.

We stay at the SeaBreeze suites (inexpensive with a pool) when we go there. We get a ground level condo rental which makes the pool easily accessable and allows us to bring a small grill for the night we cook in.

There are a few places to eat close by. Venician Hot Plate, Crazy Cajun, and the Beach St. Grill. We will hit the others next time.

I LOVE Beach/Station St. Grill. It doesn't overlook the water, but the food is outstanding. Get the big dump bucket: crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, and corn.

We tried Fins on Sunday and enjoyed the food. Everything I got was fried except the beer. The Mahi Mahi was excellent and the shrimp were too.

On a side note, the kids wanted pizza, so we went to Pizzeria Port A. It was a good buffet and the whole family enjoyed the pizza. I would recommend if you are looking for a fast lunch or pizza in general.
