all those Keep East Texas Purddy signs?

OMG! I can't believe someone else is asking about this. Why on earth would they want to perpetuate the "dumb East Texas" redneck stereotype? All I can think of when I see those is Deliverance! "Keep East Texas purddy or Bubba will make you squeal like a pig"

I hate those signs too.

What part of East Texas are these signs in? When I go I'm mainly in the Marshall/Longview area visiting my parents and I can't recall ever seeing one. I think it's been about 3 months since I've been back though. It does sound embarrassing.

I think that might be a Longview thing. I remember there was a huge uproar about this several months ago when this came about. Many people felt it continued the stereotype of East Texas and wanted it to stop.

I guess the rednecks won this battle.
