Which one is the best of the great East Texas metro areas?

As a native Longview-ite, I have to give the nod to Tyler with Longview a close second. Closer proximity to Dallas puts it on a more accelerated curve to receive "big city" amenities.

The others don't even register. Complete sh^tholes all of them although Kilgore and Marshall are considered part of Longview's MSA.

I'm from Lufkin, Lufkin is great but Nac sucks, so I'll have to go with Tyler.

Nac has the Texas Tech of East Texas.

Nac is a sheethole, everyone comes to Lufkin to shop and eat, Lufkin is lapping Nac when it comes to development.

Seriously, The only thing better in Lufkin is the football. Nacogdoches is wet!, Nacogdoches has SFA (girls mentioned previously), Nacogdoches has character. Lufkin does however have a closed down paper mill.

Does it bother nac people that Lufkin has become the hub of Deep East Texas. Lufkin is growing by leaps and bounds, new restaurants and shopping centers. I'm not saying Nac isn't a nice little place, but as far as development Nac is no where close to Lufkin, and Lufkin is wet now.

Nac sucks bad, the school sux, the people suck, everyhting about that town sux

Nac is a very nice town with lots of character and history. I would live in Nac again before any other east texas town.

Watch it! I married one of those SFA ****s. And for the record, I think the mill is actually "Idled".

I grew up in Lufkin but went to HS at Central. I've spent the last fourteen years in the Metroplex. Even though I don't think I could ever realistically move back to East Texas (limited career opportunities plus no Dillard’s for the misses), I think I would end up in Nac if we did. It's a better town.

Growing up, it seemed that Nac was a long way away, even though it's only twenty minutes. Living in the Metroplex teaches you that something twenty minutes away is in your back yard.

I would have to get a boat. That in itself is reason enough for me to get back.

I want to see harmony between the L-Nac folk. Piss on Tyler.

I'm from Texarkana and trust me it sucks. The town is very clicky and everyone knows everyone else's business. Plus the town just sucks!!

Tyler gets the nod over Big-T because of the tittay bars.

That "idled" paper mill ain't never coming back on line. It's owned by Canadians.
