My parents moved out to White Oak about 15 years ago and have since moved completely away about 5 years ago. I rarely get back there these days.

I hear Pine Tree demographics are vastly different than when I graduated in 1992. Anything new going on that's interesting or is it the same ol' Longview? I did hear the loop is getting redone. That's exciting.

Got a Salt Grass now.... and On the Border, Dick's, Slim Chickens, Bubba's 33, Red Robin, are all new. Does that count as exciting?

Yep. They added it on to the mall last summer.

It does.

Drove through the old hood this weekend for the first time in many years. Still holding up for the most part although our house particularly looks like sh^t.

North eastern Longview looks to be blowing up while the old Pine Tree area is run down and decrepit. Kind of shocking but result of demographic changes I guess.

The downward spiral of the pine tree area over the last 10 to 15 years has been amazing.

White flight is real. They've all hauled ass to Hallsville, White Oak, and Spring Hill and now PT is a shell of what it was. It was a vibrant area when I grew up there and now it just feels sad and dying.

They have a store where they sell their Corn relish and assorted things and maybe cater or something like that, IIRC.

It's growing like crazy. But, none of the new restaurants can beat El Sombrero imo.
