Do you like the outdoors? Camping, fishing, hunting?

Camping - the state park or private land

fishing - there are a lot of area lakes with public access. The fishing is pretty good in the Hollytree golf course lakes (try holes 4, 7, 14, & 16)

Hunting - I'm not much help here because I hunt private land.

Find someone with land, become their friend and get access to their property.

Other than that go out to eat, get drunk, or just go to the bar.

Tyler State park is nice. It has some of the best mountain bike trails in the state. You can also rent paddle boats or canoes for fishing. If you have a family, the paddle boats are fun. They also have a roped off swimming area, playground, camping, etc...

If the weather is nice, Stanleys on Friday nights is pretty fun. Usually the band is decent, and the place gets pretty crowded around 10.

My dad and his employees eat at Stanley's every Friday lunch. That right there is enough to get me thinking about moving back to Tyler.

Damn I love Stanley's!

+1 on Stanleys Friday nights. Its fun, good beer selection and the music is good. Just be ok with the hipster crowd.

Defintiely take up mountain biking or trail running. With UT Tyler, Fualkner park, Lindsey park and Tyler State Park there are 30 miles of trails in this area.

+1 on Mountain biking at TSP and Stanley's. Big fan of the brother in law sandwich as well, but they've got this chicken sandwich called the mother clucker now that is amazing - chicken is always moist, over easy egg, and that jalaneno sourdough bun.

Just an FYI, you can get any Stanley's sandwich on the Jalapeno Sourdough bun. You just have to ask.

And yes, Friday nights are full of hipsters, but it's still pretty fun.
