Nope. I've got a buddy that was born and raised there. I hear so many stories I feel like it's my second home.

The have a kind of cool river boat cruise and they do these night train tours and 'ghost tours' which can be fun if you drink enough wine.

All this talk of Jefferson reminds me of home!

Jefferson is moving on up. They now have a dinner theater and a couple of new restaurants and bars. For a nicer placer to eat I recommend Stillwater Inn.

My wife and I went there for 3 days in '95. We will never go back. The people were unfriendly and bigoted. I couldn't believe the way they treated black people there. The town's businesses closed up at 5:00 and there was nothing to do after 5. Our Bed and Breakfast was terrible. Can't remember the name of it. Sounds like it has changed according to the other posters on this thread.

I second KJN86's comments. Wife and I went last year and will never go back. Stayed at a B&B, did the antique deal, went out on Caddo (highlight) and couldnt wait to leave. Snooze fest. I'm from Tyler and love E. TX but Jefferson isnt a great place to kill a weekend. Go to Fredricksburg and thank me later.
