Bop spotted what looked like Kudzu in deep East Texas.

Can anyone confirm this or have Bop's eyes gone bad (again) ?

Sure looked like Kudzu to Bop.
Spider web like, all over the trees.

No, it was not grapevine.

I will make some phone calls and see if I can get some people to check it out for me. That would be horrible if we ever get it like they do farther east.

I thought kudzu had already been found in texas. Is that untrue?

When Bop first saw Kudzu north of Atlanta, Ga. (in 1996) it looked like huge dead spider webs hanging in tent-like form all over huge trees.

Enuf' to make one sick if it ever got to Texas.

I dug some outside of Marshall on a roadway embankment about 10 years ago.

Bop would have more joy killin' East Texas Kudzu than Fire Ants.

It has been in East Texas before, but it has been controlled/ eradicated. If we were ever to have a problem like what you find further East in Georgia Alabama etc it would severely hurt the Forest Industry.

It comes in along the railroads. I know Hallsville has had a problem for years with it becoming established along the RR.

They use herbicides, burn it and yet it keeps coming back.

It can grow and hide all those cars on blocks in front of mobile homes

Don't understand why Governor Perry does not mobilize both Texas State Guard and Texas Army National Guard units in East Texas ?

(errr Bop, if most of the SEC has Kudzu then Texas needs some of it too.)
