Don Henley is from Linden. My mother in law went to high school with him, but he was a bit younger.
Ed Hargett used to be at the First Yell barbecue in the Lettermen's booth every year, but the barbecue doesn't seem to be as well attended (or as well organized) as it used to be when they first started it. We didn't see him there last year.
Anybody ever hear of Pinkard & Bowden? They're a comedy duo (may not be active anymore). Richard Bowden is also from Linden - used to play in Linda Ronstandt's band.
There was another shoot out with a suspected murderer in Linden at the intersection of Hwy 59 and some other highway that goes through there years and years ago. A teenage girl had shot her much older boyfriend in Tyler, and the cops had chased her that far before shooting her.
