The Aggies played Villanova in Tyler during the Rose Festival in 1939. Does anyone know or have an idea of the name of the field/stadium that they played in? I read through the "1939 Texas Aggies" book but couldn't find it.

Actually, it was not played in Rose Stadium, which did not exist at that time. The game was played on the campus of Tyler High School, where the state champion Tyler High Lions of that period were at home in the downtown area. Tyler High has long since become John Tyler High School and removed to the West Loop area of Tyler. The field upon which the A&M game was played has retained it's utility. It has through the years been maintained in, actually, dignity, and today serves as a soccer field for those who embrace that game. The field has been maintained and the area improved. When I was 18 I could't imagine having to contimue living in Tyler. Fool that I was.
