I don't believe so...I think they are testing the replication of their system for continued launches.

That reminded me of that TV show in the 70s or 80s where they went into space and gathered space junk and brought it back to be recycled. Same looking vehicle at least.
It hopped. Landed. Now leaning and hopefully doesn't flop over. Venting a ton of fuel on the pad.

It was assumed a landing leg collapsed but there's been no official word.
That was Musk's reply after last night's static fire test.
I wonder how far away that vehicle will be visible from for the 15km flight. I'd love to watch it from the bay - but don't have the time to sit there for days in hope of catching it. I have an out of town friend visiting this weekend and plan to drive him down maybe Sunday ( I don't see a scheduled road closure after today )
Yeah I wonder how many weeks were saved when it didn't blow up on the pad last night.
Looking forward to seeing it launch hopefully in the next couple of weeks but I wouldn't be shocked to see it delayed until sometime in December. I bet they wanna see 2 or 3 static fires with all 3 engines first.

Agree on all counts.
One thing about the way they operate though - when they are happy with the static fire tests... BLAST OFF. They don't mess around waiting for the crowd to gather; when it's ready to go, they just GO.
