I use DirecTV to get TV at my house and have noticed that Channel 4 reception has been the pits lately. I also have an outside antenna that is only marginally better. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed the problem. The other channels are fine.

Interesting. I just got a reply to my e-mail to their chief engineer saying that they have had numerous calls and e-mails and were looking into the problem.

When I was a kid in the Valley we had Channel 4 and Channel 5 and that was it. No cable, just two stations.

yah but it only lasts for a little while. She'll be back in form soon enough!

When I was a kid in the valley the TV screen was round and we only had one station ...channel 7 and it was on just a half day! :-)

I think the station was in Matamoris.

4 is not nearly as good a product as it once was.
They're struggling so badly, they have their reporters do their own taping and anchors are producing their own newscasts I hear.
Plus, they 86'ed the 12 pm newscast!

Haha I noticed that their weekend weather lady is from New Jersey or Brooklyn. Such a great accent to hear down here.

NBC Channel 23 as an 12 year old news anchor. BUt its the only station in HD so that helps

I could have sworn that Channel 5 was HD but I could be mistaken!?

On DirecTv only 23's local news is in HD.

Oops! I misunderstood. I don't have HD DirecTV. I decided I didn't want them drilling holes in my roof so I just kept my old dish.

I was talking about via the airwaves. I kept my outside antenna to watch the local stations in case DirecTV went down in a storm or something. It has been a good decision because reception of the local channels has not always been the best (particularly 4) and I can switch to the antenna and the reception is alomst always better.
