Will be in Angelo next week and would appreciate some dinner and breakfast taco (I figure they're burritos there) recommendations.

I'm from San Angelo and after moving to Central Texas it took me a few tries to realize that breakfast tacos were different than burritos here. Also, the burritos suck here in Temple.

Diego's were good tacos while I was there. Gosh… 15 years has trained me.

As far as local food

Western Sky
Zero One Alehouse
Francos (my favorite)
Twin Mountain
Gil's
Miss Hattie's
Rosa's (if you've never been to one. The OG isnt there any more but was started in SA.)

Since I've left SA, the Grill, Fork and Pig were good.

My favorite tacos

Diego's Burritos and Julio's Burtitos are both good choices, as is Cornerstop Burritos.

Paisanos is great Mexican food but get there early before the lunch rush. Their Mexican is good, but they do one of the better steaks in Angelo.

Armentas is also very good Mexican.

I went with La Esperanza takeout last night. Wanted Miss Hatties tonight but was worn out so settled for Cork & Pig (next door). Am getting a burrito at Julios on way out of town in AM. Thanks for recs.

The Tenders La Mexicano at Paisanos is one of my favorites.

I can't recommend much more than any other suggestions for dinner, but try
The Latest Scoop Ice Cream
37 W Concho Ave
San Angelo, TX 76903, United States

I like how San Angelo has an active small town downtown area with happy people walking around like in the 1970s of my childhood.

And The Angry Cactus is in the same block as the ice cream place. So real easy to do both.
