Born and raised in El Paso. Graduated from Andress High School in 1984. Last visit to El Paso was in 2017 to bury my mom at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery. I have only been back there twice in the last 40 years. It was a great place to grow up in, but it's too big now. I prefer living out in the country in Arkansas.
I, too, was born and raised in El Paso. Graduated from Silva Health Magnet (health magnet school attached to Jefferson, just down the street from the citi zoo) in '01. Couldn't leave for A&M quick enough.
Go back semi-regularly as I still have family there. Last visit was early January to bury my 31 year old brother; killed in by a reckless driver.
El Paso has always been a crap-hole, but that crap-hole was home. Now it's a place I associate with terrible memories because the drivers have always been awful, now this.
