In need of a place to live. He was out there today but found that the apartments seemed to be rented out through the end of May. We have no family or connections in Abilene so are unaware of what is available. Any suggestions or recommendations on anything available - house for lease, someone's garage apartment, whatever?

He has a fully crate-trained dog although we won't let the dog be any issue if need be.

Value Place is an extended hotel in the south of town. It will offer a temporary place while you find something more permanent. For an apartment, check The Residence @ Heritage Park. Their website says they have three 1 room places available in the early part of June.

We really enjoyed the Aggie club group that meets for Aggie games at the Longbranch saloon in Abilene. We met our daughter halfway to watch the Bama game.

If I were he, I'd sign as short a term lease as I could and then look for a rancher nearby with a little house to rent. Plenty of room for the dog, get to live out in the country, and would probably get to know the locals better through the rancher. But that's just me.

I used to rent a pretty cool old house in Potosi. 1br/1bath rock house that looks like it used to be an old ranch house but the owners added a new kitchen and bathroom and put in an air conditioning system. Great place for someone who enjoys the outdoor/country life.
