I've heard it's very good, but have never been there. I've been by there many times, though...and it definitely qualifies as "hole-in-the-wall."

(I cain't spell)

cazadores in katy behind the mall is pretty good. not sure if you would call it a hole in the wall place. they are the same cazadores across from campus in CS.

If it's a chain, it ain't hole-in-the-wall.

Best Italian in town - Patronella's just off of Washington @ Jackson Hill. Built from the owner's family house. Even grow their own herbs.

Someone mentioned Harris County Smokehouse at 290 & 1960 - they have a pretty awesome breakfast for those on their way out 290 to a game...

What's a good joint out near the Westchase area? There's a ton of chains off Westheimer, but I've been looking, and them good eats is hard to find.

off topic: I ate at Yao's restaurant. It was pretty good, but not hole in the wall at all.

You all should head over ot the bayland park area for some good mexican food. You can get a burrito the size of a super monster for $3 at most of the shacks over there.
There is a colombian place over near fondren and westheimer that is pretty good, think it is called mi pueblito. Its next to another good place called el pollo loco

Anybody ever been to Bubba's Texas Burger Shack on Westpark under 59? I drive by there all the time but I've never been in to eat. Supposedly they have great buffalo burgers.

Yep I have eaten at Bubba's and had a buffalo burger.... a little on the gamey side, I'll stick to real burgers. Ate on an old wooden spool (cable spool?) instead of a table.

Tookies is in Seabrook, not Kemah, and it's a pretty fair burger and rings are good too.

Goodson's in Tomball is pretty fair CFS although I stay away from the cream gravy.

IMO, Luling City Market on Richmond is good BBQ and also Steves near Cedar Bayou on TX 146 in Baytown is also good BBQ.

Not sure if they make hole in the wall status but for seafood I like Babins (multiple locations) and Goode Company Seafood ( 2 that I know of).

Mels Diner between Tomball and Spring has the best burgers along with other home cooking. Good Luck finding it if you have never been there before. It's amazing it is still in business because of the location. You talk about a hole in the wall off of a beaten path....

[Edit - spelling]
