Whatever they name it, can't be a lamer name than Houston Texans and their daring red, white and blue color scheme.

You underestimate the silliness of Houston sports. Houston's been pretty bland with previous names. They will find a way to incorporate the team into the space industry, like the Houston Satellites.

I'm still annoyed that Dynamos nixed 1836 at the last minute.
Madison, Alabama already has the best team name (minor league Trash Pandas).Scruffy said:

I didn't know that. I suppose they would go by the 36'ers. That's not bad.

Nope, They literally would be named Houston 1836. This was in the era where MLS teams were being rebranded/named in the style of european soccer clubs. Some clubs go by city name and the year the club was founded like Schalke 04 or Hannover 96. Since the Houston MLS team owners panicked at the prospect of mexican soccer fans not embracing their team due to the name celebrating a war being won against Mexico, we got stuck with Dynamo which is a copy of soviet soccer clubs like Dynamo Kiev and Dynamo Moscow.

I don't think anyone in Houston thinks it's a copy of Ukraine or Russia soccer teams. Dynamo isn't a bad name.
