A 50cc 20" bar chainsaw should do the trick.
ETA- on a serious note, I had a large (3'+ diameter) water oak in my back yard that got butchered by Centerpoint. I called out Louis Flory/Ability Tree Experts (the arborist that used to advertise on Randy Lemmon's program) to see what could be done for it. He told me that being an old water oak, it was already rotting from the inside out, would accelerate in dropping large branches, and that he would be glad to take my money but if it was his property, he would just remove it. The tree added so much beauty and shade to our patio and house, that I ignored his advice and had them balance out the tree.
He was right. Over a period of three years, it lost all its major horizontal branches, and then fell over in Hurricane Beryl, scraping/narrowly missing the house. Turns out the roots on one whole side were rotten just below the surface, which allowed the tree to tip over in the high winds.
