Got my vehicle back. They day I went Katy Collision Center reduced supplemental from $8K to just over $4k. When I paid I put on check "paying under protest", which they refused to accept. Went and got another cashiers check just to pay and get my vehicle back.
I have since taken vehicle to a Ford Dealership and gave them paper work of work performed according to the Katy Collision Center and dealership said over $5,000 of the work they are claiming to have done was not done. They don't think any of the calibrations were performed and the shop refused to provide me with any calibration scans. I contacted company that the scans are run through to provide me with what scans the body shop performed and they said they cannot release those scans to me, can only provide to the body shop.
I also received a notice from All-State yesterday that another supplemental was submitted by Katy Collision Center. I am assuming they will attempt to tow my vehicle again as All State rejected the first supplemental and has said they will not be paying any more money.
Not having much luck with any lawyers wanting to go after these guys. Every thing seems like a dead end and looks as if this collision center will be able to continue operating the way they have been.
Are you still doing the tow hearing next week?
I'd also have a conversation with your campus's admin / police presence about the possibility of another illegal tow. School districts aren't so crazy about people coming on campus that don't have a legit reason to be there.
Any response from local media?
If you aren't on Twitter, I'd also consider blasting the business there. Figure out who the state/local reps are and tag them and the BBB and the news stations and keep after it.
