I live in Bridgeland by the HS. This is incredibly exciting

Aren't they also supposed to develop something similar to Cinco Ranch's La Centerra in or around Bridgeland at some point?

Used to be that a lot of players lived in Misery City area, that will definitely change when this is open.

This is going to be part of Bridgeland Central which is a 925 acre commercial development in the middle of Bridgeland. There has been discussion of a town center since we moved there in 2009…maybe this will be the catalyst to actually build it.

So where exactly is this going to be? I haven't seen anywhere that shows the actual location.

If it's part of Bridgeland central then it will be just north of the new HEB. North of BCP and east of 99.

It is entirely possible that if Harris County SCC doesn't get their crap together, both the Texans and the HLS&R relocate to this facility.

While possible, do you see the Texans and Rodeo paying for the land and build? I'd imagine they still try to play nice with the county so that they foot the bill.

Make them practice in the dome with the rats until they get better.

Perhaps but they could just hop on 99.

Its 70 min drive right now from Sienna to Bridgeland using 99. 50 min in the opposite direction. I don't see any NFL player putting up with that 4-5 days per week.

In the meantime, send CJ Stroud on a South American Ayahuasca trip to get his head right. Marcel Reed too. Crazy how parallel the last part of their seasons were. They were genuinely the only reasons we tanked. They could both use a cross over into the spirit realm.

Bridgeland central is both east and west of 99.

Don't see them moving the rodeo out to the boonies.

I wouldnt expect that either, but I'm sure they have the data on where the majority of their ticket buyers and volunteers are coming from. If it turns out that population base has shifted west, it may not be the worst choice to move out to the boonies in 5-10 years. However they would completely lose all attendance from SE side.

People forget Rodeo is more than just the stadium.

NRG Center, NRG Arena, Carnival area, and Astroworld parking.

Plus the light rail is huge for Rodeo.

Lots more plugged in people that have already commented but it would be really hard for Rodeo to leave.

Plus, the Texan aren't leaving playing at NRG. This has been the case for lots of teams in the past. The Rockets used to practice at Westside before Toyota Center was built.

Yeah I don't see a HLSR move happening but HLSR is also pushing very hard to get upgrades and improvements to the grounds. They'll use this as leverage for sure.

Rodeo is also a lot more than people from here.

Livestock show participants, visitors, and exhibitors come from all over the state and nation to come to the rodeo.

That won't stop if they move 50 mins out of town.

That was already approved. Construction should start in 2027/2028

the Texans could move wherever they wanted

this will keep them out of Montgomery County for now

Neither wants to, but the county is $2 -$3 Billion behind in required maintenance to NRG. Pretty easy decision if the maintenance not performed is in the same ballpark of building new. This would be something similar to Jerry World and the Atlanta Braves new development.

The part making it difficult isn't NRG for the rodeo. It's the off sight facilities most don't know exist. But there's enough land already purchased out there not mentioned as part of this to make it work.

2-3B behind? Where are you getting these numbers.

Do we think Howard Hughes is going to build these idiots a new stadium?

How tf can you get 2-3 billion behind on maintenance? There isn't that much to maintain. They going to rewire the whole complex with monster wire with the gold tips?

Maybe if that includes the Astrodome. Would like to know if they're still paying millions each each for asbestos clean up, etc…. With the contractors making big political contributions of course.

HLSR probably

They're putting on a big campaign to push the county for improvements

Hell every committee meeting we have to sit and listen to someone speak about it and beg us for more money.
