Just FYI. Not sure I agree with it as I went back and looked at Pressly's appearances this season. Around 80% of the time he didn't allow any runs. The other 20% he did allow runs and it cost games which is what burns in people's brains.

At this point, we sure could use a reliever that's 20% more effective than Sex Panther.

You also have to remember it seemed all of our end of game guys were worse last year. Is it coincidence, am I making it up, or did something about Pressly not being the closer cause drama for everyone else?

Very well could be.

Abreu and Hader are more comfortable knowing Pressly isn't getting wedged back into their spots.

Either way, I tip my hat to Pressly as what he did in the 2022 World Series was remarkable. He had some serious fielding help in Game 5, but there's been a LOTS of closers implode on the biggest stage.

Even Mariano Rivera.

It's easy to say a good throw would have gotten him, and that's not wrong. But it would have had to be an amazing acrobatic throw given the circumstances. IMO, the pitcher did not have time to gather himself, plant his feet, and make a throw.

Oooof. Took my young boys to the game. At least the popcorn and ice cream kept them entertained after the first couple innings of watching the Astros do absolutely nothing good.
