I've been driving the new Aggieland Parkway a lot here lately and there's some really beautiful places in East Grimes County.

Just some really beautiful country in that part of the county.

I've heard rumors that Chuck Norris has a place in the area. Pretty crazy he's an EaGr Man.

I just they had properly extended 249/Aggie Expressway all the way to highway 6 with a proper freeway interchange. Maybe that is long range plan, I dont know

not a rumor. Lone Wolf Ranch on 90 a couple miles outside of Navasota. Not exactly "beautiful country" though to me.

It is beautiful country from north of the FM that runs to the Ren Fest, and east/southeast from where the tollway connects to 105. There is some weird stuff going on in the other areas though.

I worked on a pipeline that went through chuck Norris' ranch. I didn't go out there because there weren't any valves on his place, but I used to get a kick out of giving the ROW agents a hard time when they talked about condemning Chuck's place.

There's nice country all throughout West Montgomery, East Grimes and South Walker Counties.

Roans Prairie is the edge of this nice sector inside of Grimes County. Once you're pressing into Iola the beauty is fading.

Plantersville has some underrated terrain. There are some nice views around there and Dobbin off of 105. The land rolls and is topped by tall pines. This is mostly looking East while driving that road.

Another note: Plantersville has a new subdivision going in called "The Cedars". It's very well developed and has a lot of beauty.

I always get very nervous driving on the northern stretch of 249, where it is undivided two-lane traffic.
It's too much speed mixed with curves.

My buddy & I drove past the wreck on the way back to Houston after the basketball game yesterday. A sedan with its front end obliterated and an SUV on its side.

There was a fatality on that same stretch of 249 following the Missouri football game last fall. My wife & I drove by there minutes before the accident.

I guess traffic count/economics didnt make this part worth being a divided road/freeway up to 105 or 6? Thats what annoys me about this road

Portions of it are divided and portions aren't north of FM 2920 / the Tomball area. There are also portions where it is four lanes and NOT divided when you get closer to 105.

The accidents have taken place where the freeway goes from four lanes to two closer to 105. On top of that, the roads were very slick yesterday due to the rain.

Yeah, I've driven it a few times, I'm just curious why they didnt make a divided freeway/toll road from the beltway all the way to Hwy 6 or 105 and just get it over with, instead of telescoping it down to a FM style road by the time you get to 105.
