Yup. I have found that to be the case with pretty much all Indians and SE Asians.

Unlike us Americans, they don't get the opportunity to work with their hands on anything. They don't spend time on the ground learning.

It's completely cultural.

I learned my lesson with Harvey. When the first forecast of 50" of rain came out, I poo-pood it right off the page.......well, that was wrong.

I now try to observe more than opine and use a lot of "ifs."

I had told my 9 year old we typically get snow after a hurricane, and she was starting to not believe me.

Is there not another front like this expected in a few more weeks ?

5" so far in Barbers Hill. Still coming down. Kids have gone through 3 sets of clothes already getting wet and cold but they just throw another set on and get right back out. Neighbor kids have the golf carts out pulling each other on wake boards. Really cool experience for SE TX kids.

I use a 27 gallon storage bin. It obviously won't slide very well so I attach a leaf bag insert to the bottom. Not easy to find though.

So you'll probably be doing laundry tonight, which is good. One of the tricks we use when it's supposed to get down into the teens like it is tonight is to run a load of laundry around 11 and then set the dishwasher to run around 1-2, which should keep water moving through the pipes for a good 3-4 hours depending on how long your washer and dishwasher typically run.

Models have a couple of fronts on the horizon, but they don't look to be this cold as of now. In general things look to get a bit more seasonal or warmer than normal, but I would be ok with things staying cool and getting occasional fronts for a while to stave off the summer oven
