Overhyped like pretty much every other winter weather event. Most I've seen in pictures is about 1-2 inches in select spots.
Looks like about an inch in Richmond…enough to let the kids build a small snowman and throw some snow at each other
Yep...I'm at 1.5" in Magnolia (77355). Still coming down a little bit but slowed down big time.
Looking like a bust. Hasn't changed over to snow for most of the area.
Forecasts looking warmer for this afternoon too. If you want to play in it do it this morning

About 1" here over by Memorial City Mall. Still falling but not alot. This isn't the 4" they predicted unless it changes dramatically in the next few hours.

We need to see a solid and fast change over to snow soon to hit some of the forecast numbers… this was the bust potential I had mentioned yesterday.

Could be wrong but the first couple of inches probably melted on impact. So 4 inches of snowfall in Houston look like 1-2 inches on the ground.
And 1-2 inches of snow look like nothing because it doesn't stick. Or maybe the slightest dusting with no accumulation.

Wild to have a forecaster say that. Just stop following him and follow SCW and MFR.
SCW was clear in yesterday's post that the changeover to snow would happen around 3, which it did.
"Forecast for the night
So before 3 AM, look for this potpourri of precipitation types. Again, plain rain should be expected in spots near the coast especially. This is not a surprise and was anticipated ahead of time. After 3 AM, there will be a transition to all sleet and snow and eventually just snow. There is a good chance we will wake up to snow falling tomorrow, although how much on the ground is an open question with a few possibilities. Snow should end from northwest to southeast after 9 AM tomorrow."

We've got probably 2" on the ground in Katy/Fulshear. Enough for my daughter to play in and have fun, which is all I really wanted.

We've got about 1.5" on the ground in Westbury 5. Half of that fell in the last hour. I wouldn't be surprised if our total is 3-4" once melt before the ground froze is accounted for. If we get up into the high 30s today, then tomorrow is going to be a mess.
It was enough, but not as fun as it could have been.
Haven't stepped outside yet but seems like a pretty thin layer out in Bridgeland.

Tapering off here with about 2.5 inches in Weimar

Coming down decently in Sienna in the last 30-45 minutes
Full coverage in Lazybrook and it looks like it's still snowing which is a first for me as I've only seen active snowfall in the middle of the night.

Really coming down now. If this keeps up for another couple of hours as expected we'll come close to hitting 5-6".
